Feist Registration Instructions
Thank you for your interest in registering your Feist with the United Feist Registry (UFR). We are excited to welcome you and your dog as part of our growing community.
To begin the registration process, please complete the Single Registration Form and submit it by U.S. mail or email. We encourage you to review the Single Registration Requirements below, along with the UFR Breed Standards, prior to submitting your application to ensure your Feist meets all established guidelines.
Along with your application, please include the following:
Three (3) clear photographs of your dog:
One front view
One left side view
One right side view
A copy of the dog’s three-generation pedigree
For accurate evaluation, please take photos from ground level, with your dog standing as close to proper bench show format as possible.
You may also choose to bring your Feist to a UFR-sanctioned hunt and submit the required documentation. Your dog may be hunted as pending registration until UFR has fully processed and approved your application.
Single Registration Requirements
April 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026 dogs must strictly meet the UFR breed standard. Pedigree preferred but not required.
January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2027 dogs must be at least 75% Feist. Meaning 1 Grandparent or 2 Great Grandparents can be either unknow or of a different breed.
January 1, 2028 and on dogs must be at least 87.5% Feist. Meaning 1 Great Grandparent can be either unknow or of a different breed.
Must have a 3 generation pedigree from a documented registry.(Starting January 1, 2027) ie. NKC, UKC, Mullins etc.
All dog must meet the URF Breed Standards reglardless of percentage.
Litter Registration..............................................$30
Litter Registration Instructions
UFR is proud to support responsible breeding and the continued preservation of the Feist breed.
To register a litter of puppies, please complete the Litter Registration Form and submit it by U.S. mail or email. To be eligible for registration, the litter must be under six (6) months of age, and both the sire and dam must be registered with UFR.
Once the litter is registered, you will receive individual puppy papers for each puppy in the litter. If you chose to permanently register any puppy when completing the litter registration form, a three-generation pedigree will be provided.
Transfer of Ownership..............................................$20
TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP
Thank you for helping keep United Feist Registry (UFR) records accurate and up to date. Proper transfer of ownership ensures a smooth transition for both breeders and new owners while protecting the integrity of the Feist breed.
Puppy Transfers
The breeder must complete and sign the transfer section on the puppy registration before the puppy goes home with the new owner.
The new owner will complete the application portion of the puppy registration.
The completed paperwork should be mailed to UFR via U.S. mail or e-mail.
Adult Dog Transfers
The seller must sign the Transfer Application (located on the back of the pedigree) exactly as their name appears on the Pedigree.
The seller must clearly list the date of transfer on the Transfer Application.
The new owner must complete all appropriate sections of the Transfer Application.
Once completed, the certificate should be mailed to UFR. Transfers will not be completed until the original Pedigree with Transfer Application is recieved by UFR.
